Friday, April 15 - Philadelphia

The first Senate room in Philadelphia. The handsome class of 2012 posing by the liberty bell. Viewing Benjamin Franklin's final resting place. (More familiarly recognized as the location of the chase scene in National Treasure.) Today began with a nutritious breakfast at our lovely Microtel. We then set off for Philadelphia where we saw Ben Franklin's grave, the Quaker meeting house, the US Mint (waiting a quick 30 minutes to tour), the excavation site of George Washington's presidental house in Philadelphia, the Liberty Bell, and toured Independence Hall and the surrounding buildings. We enjoyed lunch at the Bourse before heading to Washington D.C. The trip was long but we finally made it to our amazing Marriott hotel after hours of directional confusion. Luckily we will be riding the Metro for the rest of the trip, which we learned how to use respectfully today. We ate dinner at the majestic and bustling Union Station. Back at our hotel, Matt gave a thoughtful worship talk on the importance of having a broken heart for this world. We hope you all had a wonderful closing to the week. Happy Sabbath! :) With Love, Alannah (The Official Ambassador of Ambassadors), Jessica (The Talented Navigator), and Sierra (who showcased her newly found snoring talents today.)
